Jewish Experience Design (JXD) is a human-centered approach to making Jewish life easier to enter, more meaningful to join, and more alive. It draws on Jewish values, Mussar, Universal Design, and UX Design to improve rituals, learning spaces, community programs, and digital tools.

JXD works within halakha (Jewish law), while examining the parts of Jewish life communities can shape: customs, communication, physical and digital spaces, food, language, prayer melodies, ritual choreography, learning styles, and whose stories get centered. Its goal is to reduce preventable barriers to belonging, whether physical, sensory, cultural, educational ,or spiritual.

JXD in action: My Shabbat UX: Designing Jewish Ritual for Real People class uses research, empathy, prototyping, and feedback to help people redesign everyday Shabbat experiences without abandoning Jewish tradition.

Coined for Jewish futurism by Mike Wirth, 2026.
